Details

Nicknamed "Rooster," this custom 1972 Gen 1 "uncut" four-wheel-drive Ford Bronco is a full custom frame-off build, with over 2,000 hours spent on fabrication, bodywork and paintwork. The powerplant consists of a 465hp Gen 3 5.0-liter Coyote crate engine mated to the Ford 10R80 10-speed automatic transmission with the "Pro" Atlas twin-stick dual-range transfer case rated up to 750hp. The engine bay features a custom-made polished stainless-steel cold-air intake, remote oil reservoir, custom-painted backlit engine cover to match the body design, relocated hydro-boost unit for optimal fitment and a custom exhaust not being overly loud upon cold start. "Rooster" features a total 5.5-inch lift with Amp Research steps allowing for easy entry and exit. Because the doors are equipped with quick-release hinges for fast removal, if desired, the steps are operated by a controller that allows for manual control, so the driver can retract and extend the steps even without the doors. The 35-inch tires on 17x9-inch U.S. Mags Indy wheels match the look and design of the body and are mounted to the Dana 44 differential up front with a Ford 9-inch rear end sporting 4.10 gears and 31-spline axles. Slotted disc brakes are on all four corners with a Wilwood master cylinder and booster to ensure proper stopping performance. The exterior is painted with what is being described as Diamond Ice Blue. The classic chrome molding that wraps around the whole vehicle and the uncut rear fenders really set off the look that matches with the OEM-style front and rear bumpers. The hardtop painted in Wimbledon White is equipped with the Paradise Custom Hoisting system that allows for tool-less removal and installation, taking less than 15 minutes for either function for when the weather allows for driving with the top removed. The hardtop was fabricated with four billet retractable lifting points and the full structure was reinforced with hidden metal supports to ensure damage-free handling for years to come. Custom-designed rear side panels upholstered to match the rest of the interior are provided to ensure a polished look when the top is removed. The underside and full body interior are bed-lined, and the interior is fully insulated for sound and temperatures. The dash sports the Dakota Digital classic gauges, along with a Vintage Air system to keep all occupants cool or warm as the weather dictates. The full upholstery by Unique Upholstery has seat insert designs in a custom herringbone pattern. They are integrated with all the seats and the custom center console that houses the double-DIN audio system interface. The dash pad is wrapped with the same high-end leather used on all the custom seats, along with the custom panel interior door covers. It also features a full-length custom down-firing subwoofer behind the back seat that provides the full audio system with the bass needed to enjoy some tunes. Power windows, Bluetooth rock and engine cover lighting, along with a powder-coated frame, round out some of the more notable upgrades. The OEM frame and glove box cover show matching OEM VINs. This Bronco is registered, titled and insured as a 1972 Ford Bronco. "Rooster" was selected to be a part of the 2024 Barrett-Jackson Cup Top 50 and also selected as a Top 10 Builder's Choice award at the Del Mar Goodguys event in 2024.
