Details

This custom 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer underwent a fully documented no-expense-spared restoration and is powered by a GM crate Gen 5 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine mated to a GM crate 10L80 10-speed automatic transmission with TapShift, down to an Atlas twin-stick transfer case. The engine breathes out of a Rad Fab stainless exhaust with a Borla muffler. Other modern upgrades include an original-style fuel tank that was modified to accept the late-model ZL1 GM in-tank fuel pump controlled with PWM, a late-model ZL1 radiator/fan combo that is controlled with PWM, and a GM air intake and filter fed by a custom cold-air intake through core support. Front and rear differentials received complete professional documented rebuilds with all-new components from brands such as Truetrac, Yukon, Spicer and Moog, at which time new front and rear driveshafts where also built and upgraded with larger-diameter tubes, CV joints and billet slip yokes to ensure all power was transferred safely from the transfer case to the differential. The suspension consists of an all-spring 2.5-inch lift with greaseable poly/Kevlar bushings, HD shackles and Bilstein shocks. This example is finished in a period-correct laser-straight Dark Olive Poly paint and, to complete the look, a set of 17-inch machined Fuel Rincon beadlock wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich KM3 35-inch tires. This K5's exterior upgrades include Trique/Altman-style door latches, Tre5 tailgate latch/cable kit and a RainGear multi speed cowl concealed windshield wiper system. The interior is done in original period-correct 1972 exclusive Highlander Edition Green Plaid upholstery. It reveals modern creature comforts and technology, such as a Dakota Digital RTX fully programmable gauge cluster with compass and exterior temperature add-ons, an Ididit tilt steering column, Vintage Air system control panel, push-button ignition, power door locks, heated driver/passenger seats, console-mounted cell phone charging station, and an OE-style AM/FM/Bluetooth stereo that controls four Kicker-branded speakers and one Kicker-branded powered subwoofer.
