This custom 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 has been extensively modified with no expense spared by builder Bobby Johnson, who integrated a 2006 Ford GT mid-engine drivetrain into the 1970 body. The drivetrain is powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter Ford V8 engine mated to a Ricardo 6-speed manual transmission. Stopping power is courtesy of Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes with 6-piston calipers and 14-inch drilled and slotted rotors, with custom brake cooling ducts throughout the whole car to keep the brakes cool even under extreme driving. This car sits on a completely custom chassis with modern car technology, including a C6 Corvette front suspension with custom external valved coilovers in all four corners. It rides on custom one-off 18-inch Evod knock-off rims designed by Eric Brockmeyer, 18x10-inch up front and 18x12-inch in the rear, that resemble Cobra and McLaren wheels from the 1960s, with Bridgestone tires putting all 550hp to the ground. This car is equipped with Stiletto rack & pinion steering for modern steering and supercar-like performance. The wheelbase of the car has been extended by 2 inches for a more supercar look, but also allows more legroom for taller people. The custom rear hatch design allows the car to look stock from the exterior and also to see the 5.4-liter supercharged engine from the back window. It features all-custom rain channels and hinges made to allow the rear hatch to open as if it was factory. It is also equipped with custom billet exterior door handles and hood hinges were made. This Mustang is also equipped with custom one-off lower rocker moldings made specifically for this car. Factory Mach 1s have this option but say \"Mach 1\" on the front fenders, and this is made to say \"Ford GT.\" The custom one-off hood was made out of carbon fiber for weight savings. The interior features a 2003 Mustang dash modified to fit inside of this car. Along with factory-looking electric windows, the handles are sourced from a 1970 Mustang but operate as if they were a new car with power windows, which push forward slightly to make the window go down and pull back slightly to allow the window to go up. The interior also features an all-custom stereo system with all-JL speakers and components. The interior features custom racing bucket seats wrapped in genuine leather with four-point racing harnesses. This car has over 5,000 miles driven on this build and has completed legs of the 2015 Hot Rod Power Tour.
