Details
This custom 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T convertible is powered by a 517ci HEMI V8 engine producing over 675hp. The engine features Vendor Stage V aluminum heads, lightweight valves, high-RPM springs and a height-matched aluminum dual 4-barrel manifold. Dual 600cfm Edelbrock carburetors provide fuel delivery, while a high-flow electric fuel pump with custom heat-shielding ensures optimal performance. The ignition system uses Coil-on-Plug technology, and the exhaust system is a custom E-Body HEMI 3-inch system with an X-pipe crossover and electric exhaust cutouts. The engine is cooled by a 26-inch remanufactured HEMI four-core radiator and dual electric puller fans. The power is paired with a 4-speed Chrysler A833 manual transmission with an overdrive fourth gear and a Dodge pistol-grip shifter. The drivetrain is enhanced with a Strange S60 rear end, fitted with heavy-duty axles, 3.73 gears and a limited-slip differential from Eaton. A custom-built CANbus system manages the electrical components, and the Dakota Digital gauge cluster displays essential data, complemented by a custom stereo system. The suspension features an independent front conversion, with a tubular K-frame, tubular upper and lower control arms, and QA1 coilover shocks. The rear suspension is based on the A33/34 Track Pack, utilizing custom leaf springs and an inboard spring relocation kit. This car rides on four-wheel Wilwood disc brakes, with stainless hardlines and a hydro-boost power brake system, along with front line lock and electronic parking brake. The body is finished in Top Banana Yellow, with the underside of the car painted to match. It also features a fiberglass hood with a Shaker induction scoop, the exhaust finished in black, and it has a custom-made Haartz canvas-piece convertible top that has been converted to power operation using factory components.
