This custom 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle built by Tom Nelson Racing is powered by an all-aluminum twin-turbocharged 509ci big-block Chevrolet V8 engine making 1,870hp. The drivetrain uses a Mike's Powerglide 2-speed automatic transmission, Wanco Super Duty driveshaft rated at 2000hp with a Gear Vendors overdrive and Winter's shifter, along with a Moser 9-inch rear end with 35-spline axles. The engine features twin injectors per cylinder, twin air-to-air intercoolers, 60-tooth crank trigger ignition with coil packs, Electromotive fuel management and a full stainless exhaust. A twin-core all-aluminum Ron Davis radiator with dual 16-inch Spal fans. All rad lines were custom-fabricated out of 6061 aluminum tube TIG-welded twin transmission coolers with fans. It is equipped with a March mid-mount billet pulley and bracket system with an Edelbrock aluminum water pump, high-amp alternator and a March power steering pump. The front suspension sits on Global West upper and lower control arms and ATS forged spindles. The rear suspension is a Chris Alston 4-link rear with coilovers, billet upper control arms, billet rear upper control arms, billet sway bar links, all-large solid heim joints. Hotchkis front sway bar, quick-ratio steering box and QA1 shocks. Wilwood disc brakes on all four corners with 6-piston calipers in the front and rear disc brakes with an emergency brake built into them, all hiding behind a set of Bonspeed billet wheels. Adjustable proportioning valve accessible from the front interior, a hydro-boost brake system and everything plumbed in stainless hard-lined or stainless braid. The Eric Thorsen-upholstered interior features Kirkey seats with custom slides built in to accommodate different driver sizes, five-way cam-lock racing harnesses, German carpet one-piece headliner, power windows, tilt and telescoping steering column, Lecarra steering wheel, new dash pad and all black-on-black door panels. A Halon fire system with nozzles is equipped in the engine bay and the interior is fully hard-lined with stainless.
