Details

Undergoing a rotisserie restoration in 2011, this 1964 Dodge Polara Super Stocker with lightweight aluminum front fenders is powered by a 426ci HEMI engine with 8-stack FAST electronic fuel injection and electronic ignition, paired with a push-button automatic transmission. It features an AF/X Gasser look with A100 straight-axle front end. Made to haul to and from shows, it does have a title and working lights. Running on 110 octane premium race gas, this example features open headers, slicks, raised front end and Lexan bubbled windshield, which makes it not street legal. Billing itself as the winningest race car in history, this car started life as a 426ci lightweight Super Stocker quarter-mile race car in California, with owner Bill Golden campaigning in the Southwest as \"The Maverick\" in '64 and only losing one race. Then, it changed hands, moving to the Southeast and turning into \"The Prosecutor.\" It campaigned for two years, from 1965-66, never losing a race, with Stanley Ward as the driver, whose shirt/autograph are included with this restoration, which is a re-creation of that car. The original car was found in 2010 in very rough condition in the woods of Louisiana with not much left. Using that car with many other parts and pieces, Dr. Terry Winkler brought it back to life. The car's history is chronicled in various magazine articles, including Mopar Collectors Guide magazine in August 2011 and July 2013. The sale includes the history, display boards, trophies and a non-bolted-in red jump seat for a passenger. **NOT STREET LEGAL**
