Details
This custom 1961 Chevrolet Corvette is the recipient of a complete body-off nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration. It is built with a new crate LT4 supercharged direct-injected 6.2-liter V8 engine paired with an all-new crate 8L90E 8-speed automatic transmission, with the powertrain producing 700hp. This Corvette rides on a fully independent Art Morrison chassis, with fully adjustable ride height, completely powder-coated in a light metallic gray that matches the cove. Braking is handled by Wilwood with 14-inch rotors and 6-piston calipers. The all-original fiberglass body was stripped down completely and fitted with a new smoothed firewall and custom front inner fenders, while the back portion was slightly modified to fit the quad exhaust tips. The power hood has flush-mounted LED lights to display the modern engine. Upon completion of the bodywork, the car was painted in Ferrari Alloy Sliver with a Ferrari Gray Metallic cove, with extra care and time taken to make the bottom of the car look as nice as the top side. The inside of car and doors were treated with sound-deadening and insulation to reduce road noise and any unwanted sounds. It also features Nu-Relics modern power windows fitted into the doors, along with the original soft-top restored back to factory specs with factory hardware, powder-coated black and covered in Stayfast material. This car rides on custom billet Schott 18-inch wheels in the front and 20-inch in the rear, wrapped in Diamond Back whitewall tires. The interior was finished off in Relicate Italian leather, with front seats multitemperature heated for cold temperatures. The seats were designed back 2 inches, and the steering wheel was moved forward from the factory position for more space. The original-looking gauges are modern Dakota Digital gauges. The music comes through the amplified Alpine touchscreen stereo system to the speakers. A vintage-looking Dakota Digital clock is mounted in the center of the car. The sale includes all manuals and build photos.
