Details
This 1956 Austin-Healey BN2 roadster is one of 640 factory-built 100M Le Mans-specification cars produced between 1955 and 1956. Restored by Kent Lambert, world-renowned Healey expert. It is finished in Old English White and red with a black soft-top over a black leather interior. The replacement 2,660cc inline-4 engine was rebuilt in 2019 with an aluminum cylinder head from Denis Welch, forged 8.5:1-compression Arias pistons, a ground and rehardened camshaft from Elgin and a high-volume oil pump. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Work performed since November 2022 included rebuilding the twin SU HD6 carburetors, as well as replacing the clutch, resealing the front of the transmission and replacing the pinion gear, oil pan, rear main seal, timing and valve cover gaskets, and ignition components. Additional features include a banjo-spoke steering wheel, a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror, sisal floor mats, a 100M registry placard affixed to the body-color dashboard and 15-inch wire wheels. Included with the sale are the 100M "Le Mans" Registry Certificate of Membership, a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, a 1959 sales invoice and service records.
