This 1952 Crosley fire truck is frame-off restored and powered by a rebuilt 44/26.5hp overhead cam 4-cylinder engine paired with a 3-speed manual transmission. Stopping power is being provided by 9-inch Bendix brakes. The red exterior features gold leaf-painted letters. The original teak bench seats and ladders were duplicated using teakwood. The original axes were missing, but period-correct axes engraved with the \"Kiddie Fire Dept.\" logo were acquired. The lights, siren, hoses, nozzles and other metal accompaniments were present and only needed restoration, and a new old stock (NOS) instrument panel was also installed. This fire truck was built for Overland Amusement Company of Lexington, MA, who purchased cab and chassis from the Crosley Automobile Company to create their fire truck amusement rides. This ride was owned by Catskill Game Farm in Catskill, NY, and the owner has an original postcard featuring this truck at the farm. Old Cars magazine featured it as the vehicle of the week from the National Mini/Micro car show on June 19, 2021. It received First Place presentations in several events, including 15th National Micro/Mini Car Show, Dayton Concours d 'Elegance, Louisville Concours d 'Elegance, Crosley Nationals and Stan Hywet Father's Day Car Show. It has received AACA awards, including for Junior, Senior and Preservation designations. This vehicle was on loan to the National Packard Museum for a special presentation.
