Description

Summary

25-foot single-axle travel trailer. Completely restored from the frame up with a polished exterior and a restored interior, including kitchen, shower, bathroom, heat and air conditioning, and hookups.

Details

This 1946 Spartan Newmar Newaire camper is a 25-foot single-axle travel trailer that was restored less than a year ago. The project involved polishing the aluminum exterior; reconfiguring the layout; replacing the wiring, plumbing, interior paneling and lighting; and installing a mini-split HVAC system, custom kitchen cabinetry and an electric cooktop. It retains two original doors with porthole windows, dual ceiling vents, a refrigerator, a custom-tiled bathroom with a shower, and a bedroom with a queen bed and new memory-foam mattress. The interior was stripped during the refurbishment and fitted with new wood framing, wall and ceiling paneling, as well as wood-grain flooring. It also features recessed lighting, fore-and-aft ceiling vents, rocker-style light switches, hinged side windows and residential-style power outlets. The lounge area is furnished with a new sofa, side table, tray-style entry table and wall-mounted flatscreen television. The galley area is outfitted with upper and lower wood cabinets, a custom-built countertop, custom-tile backsplash and overhead lighting. Along with a Frigidaire refrigerator and freezer housed in a cabinet-style surround, additional features include an induction cooktop, a hinged window, an A.O. Smith water heater and a sink with a retractable sprayer. It rides on restored 16-inch wheels with new tires. Stopping power is from electrically actuated drum brakes. A Senville mini-split condenser is mounted on the tongue, where the trailer is also equipped with a manual tongue jack and trailering wire harness. The bearings were repacked during the restoration.
