Details

This highly documented and decorated 1965 Chevrolet Corvette 327/350 convertible was inspected by Corvette expert Roy Sinor in December 2023. This car retains its original VIN Tag, original Trim Tag, original color combination and original drivetrain. This example is one of only 4,716 built with the L79 327/350 option in both coupes and convertibles. As the NCRS Shipping Data report indicates, the Official Production Date was March 16, 1965. It's accompanied by the original Dealership Order

Form, original Window Sticker, original Bill of Sale, original Protect-O-Plate and original New York World's Fair '64 black license Plate with a '65 expiration sticker. The car was ordered with a Glen Green exterior, white convertible top, Saddle interior, auxiliary hardtop, 7.75x15 white sidewall tires, PB AM/FM radio, 350hp V8 engine, 4-speed transmission and posi-traction axle with 3.55 gears. It was purchased at Amity Auto Sales in Amityville, NY, on March 25, 1965, by Alan Monteleone, who lived in Islip, NY. Monteleone is still alive today and was recently contacted regarding the car. He sold it to Ferdinand Hellman, who lived in Oreland, PA, on May 14, 1973. Hellman owned the car for 34 years until his passing in November 2007. The car was purchased by Ken Siegfried, who lives in Clarkston, MI, in September 2008. This information is documented with an original PA title that's included with the sale. Siegfried is the owner of Classic Enterprises in Pontiac, MI. He purchased the car in original condition with a no-hit body. Siegfried kept an original 1974 PA Inspection Sticker, original Chevy Performance Inspection brochure, original Liberty Mutual Insurance brochure and a Jacquin's Vodka writing pad that were found in the glovebox. These items are included. Siegfried performed a meticulous nut-and-bolt body-off restoration that was completed in 2022. Since completion the car has achieved many prestigious certifications and awards, which include Bloomington Gold Certified, NCRS Top Flight, Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals Concours Gold Certificate and Triple Diamond Certificate. All of the judging sheets and awards are included. These achievements are an indication this car was accurately and correctly restored to high standards throughout. The exterior of this C2 is truly stunning with its iconic design and gorgeous color combination. The 1965 model has a unique front grille, and side front louvers were changed to three functional side slots. The original body is extremely straight with excellent gap lines. It's been refinished in its original color of Glen Green, which looks amazing. The paintwork is ocean-deep and looks wet. The green color is complemented by a new white vinyl soft-top that operates smoothly. The car retains its original hardtop, which was refinished and matches beautifully. A new hardtop stand is included. The power antenna was Corvette's first and standard equipment. The car sits on 15-inch wheels with spinner hubcaps. The wheels are wrapped with Firestone Deluxe Champion 7.75x15 white sidewall tires. The interior of this C2 is absolutely gorgeous. It was redone in its original color of Saddle, which is easy on the eyes. The 1965 model instruments were restyled with black flat faces, and the area around the radio was painted rather than vinyl covered. The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout with many correct parts. It's powered by the original matching-numbers 327ci V8 engine that was factory-rated with 350hp. The engine was completely rebuilt and runs excellent. The engine is coupled to the original matching-numbers 4-speed manual transmission. The transmission was also rebuilt and shifts smoothly. The undercarriage is highly detailed throughout with many correct parts. Four-wheel disc brakes were introduced as standard equipment for the 1965 Corvettes. This car was recently serviced and detailed, which is documented with an invoice. From the MS CLASSIC CARS Collection.
