This custom 1959 Chevrolet Apache 3100 Pro-Street drag truck is a professional high-end build by Clay Phillips of Performance Paint and Chassis in Battlefield, MS. It is powered by a 468ci big-block Chevrolet (BBC) engine equipped with custom headers, Crower billet crankshaft, Eagle steel rods, JE pistons, huge COMP Cams roller camshaft, Brodix aluminum cylinder heads and a Pro Ram II intake with Enderle port injection. There's a special button to prime the fuel for starting the vehicle. The

engine is equipped with nitrous; however, it has never been hooked up. The 2-speed Powerglide transmission and converter are from BTE with a certified case and a 1.80 straight-cut low gear. It has an SFI 25.3 certified full chromoly double-rail chassis. The rear end is a Fab 9-inch with Strange Pro Mod aluminum center section held in place with a Jerry Beckel 4-link suspension. Mark Williams 40-spline, gun-drilled axles and components with rear disc brakes, and a chromoly driveshaft with billet yolks on each end. The water pump and vacuum pump are aerospace components. This truck also has an on-board fire suppression system, parachute and wheelie bars. It's an all-original steel cab with a fiberglass lift-off front end and a custom bed with a custom-made tonneau cover and a built-in rear wing for downforce, all powder-coated to match the metalwork. All emblems and handles are custom-airbrushed. The top was wedge chopped and the entire cab and grille have been pie-cut narrowed to 7/8-scale for better aerodynamics (which is the reason why the letter 'R' is missing from the front emblem, which now reads 'Chevolet'). It has two new bluetop batteries. It has two racing harnesses. All metalwork and suspension have been custom-made and powder-coated. This truck rides on custom wheels wrapped in Hoosier tires.
