Details

Dubbed 'Orangish,' this eye-opening custom 1950 Chevrolet 3100 pickup rides on a GSI chassis and is powered by a GM Performance 6.2-liter LS3/525hp V8 crate engine with 6L80E automatic transmission. As the VIN indicates, this truck was built in January at the Flint, MI, factory as a 3100 model. It was restored over five episodes on YouTube by Tre 5 Customs in Peoria, AZ. The idea behind the build was to keep the original factory body appearance with modern touches throughout. It debuted in the

AccuAir booth at SEMA in 2021. It was also displayed in the GSI Machine and Fabrication booth at the 2022 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction. It was featured on the cover and on 12 pages of CK Truck magazine in the May 2022 issue. The exterior is rolling artwork with its super-straight body and brilliant color. During the restoration process the cowl vent and side vents were shaved for a smooth look. The truck was refinished in custom orange ChromaAir paint, which is stunning. The bodywork and paint were done by IKandy Paintworks in Peoria, AZ. It was outfitted with all-new Precision tinted glass. Some of the exterior custom features include a frenched headlight kit with UP Auto LED lights, modified 1952 style GSI billet door handles and custom billet badges. The original bed was replaced with a new MAR-K bed with a Pro-Tilt bed floor. When the bed is raised, it allows visibility and access to the painted air tanks and air compressors. Some of the custom bed features include bed-rail lights, hidden tailgate latch and wood floors. The truck has a great stance on U.S. Mags Rio Grande forged aluminum wheels that are 20x8.5 on the front and 20x10 on the rear. The interior was designed to appear modern and sporty. It was upholstered by Elevated Design in Phoenix, AZ. The factory dash was wrapped with leather and the glovebox was trimmed with carbon fiber. A valance was added under the dash for the Restomod Air vents. A custom waterfall full-length console was added that was also wrapped with leather and trimmed with carbon fiber. The console houses two additional Restomod Air vents, a 7-inch Pioneer head unit, Vintage Air controls, a Lokar electronic sport shifter, cup holders, and AccuAir ECU and keypad. The sound system consists of JL Audio amplifiers, Morel speakers and a JL Audio 13.5-inch subwoofer. The Snowden bucket seats and portions of the door panels were covered with vegan leather with diamond-stitched pattern inserts on the seats. Some of the interior custom features include Dakota Digital HDX gauges, polished tilt steering column and steering wheel with black wrap, billet door hardware, GSI pedal assembly and black carpeting. The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout. The painted firewall, inner fenders and radiator support were fabricated. It's powered by a GM Performance 6.2-liter LS3/525hp V8 crate engine that runs excellent. The engine was dressed with custom carbon-fiber valve covers and has an All American Billet front-runner system and air intake that exits inside the inner fender. The engine is cooled by an aluminum radiator with aluminum overfill canister. The engine breathes through Ultimate stainless-steel headers and a 3-inch complete Borla exhaust system. The engine is coupled to a GM Performance 6L80E automatic transmission. The power is transferred to a new Currie Enterprises posi-traction rear end with 3.70 gears. The undercarriage is also highly detailed throughout. The body sits on a GSI Machine and Fabrication chassis that was powder-coated. It's also equipped a GSI fuel tank with Aeromotive pump. The suspension consists of AccuAir air bags, QA1 shocks, and GSI front and rear sway bars. The braking system consists of a Baer master cylinder with 7-inch booster, Baer Pro+ 14-inch rotors and 6-piston calipers at all four corners. This vehicle was recently serviced and detailed, which is documented with an invoice that's included. From the MS CLASSIC CARS Collection.
