Description
This 1940 Ford Resto-Mod pickup has a unique removable top and bed cover (which mimics the tailgate) - both designed and custom-built by Randy Grubb, who created the famous Blastolene Special, also known as the 'Tank Car,' for Jay Leno. The top can be easily removed to convert it to a topless vehicle. This truck's high-end restoration was performed by Matityahu Performance Motors in Palo Alto, CA. It is powered by a custom Ford 408IR 8-stack EFI management system V8 engine built by Dave Ehrlich with a Tru Trac serpentine system. The engine is mated to a Performance automatic 5-speed transmission with paddle shifters, push-button system and Gear Vendors overdrive system for highway driving. The power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Ford 9-inch rear end. A chrome grille hides the radiator, making for a sleek view into the engine compartment. The stainless-steel exhaust with cutouts was custom-fit by Sanderson Headers with Eleanor-style side tips. The car rides on independent Mustang front suspension with coilovers at all four corners, power steering and power Wilwood disc brakes. This custom pickup sits on Budnik Gasser-G X-series wheels wrapped in Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tires. It is painted black with Rolls-Royce Pearl White flames with a green outline. Custom Kawasaki Hayabusa projector headlights were installed. The leather and Alcantara interior with carbon fiber was designed and done by Sid Chavers. It features Bentley switches and controls, air vents, a Porsche cup holder, heated seats, power windows, modern Classic Instruments gauges, a tilt steering wheel and a Vintage Air system. The high-end audio system includes an Alpine touchscreen and rear-view camera. The bed is lined with custom wood and has dual batteries. The sale includes two binders documenting the complete build. **TITLED AS 1940 FORD SPECON** **SOLD ON BONDED TITLE** **TITLE IN TRANSIT**
