1971 CHEVROLET CAMARO SS 396

This 1971 Chevrolet Camaro SS 396 big-block coupe has been professionally restored to original factory specifications. This Camaro has been completely documented by Jerry MacNeish's Camaro Hi-Performance, Inc., as having its matching-numbers engine, transmission, Q-jet carburetor, alternator and rear differential. The 1971 Camaro was the final year for the LS3 396ci big-block engine. Only 1,533 examples were produced and, of those, this is one of only 233 produced with the available 4-speed Muncie M20 transmission. The factory Build Sheet and original Window Sticker are provided to document these RPO production numbers. The car has undergone a complete body-off restoration with the single intent of bringing this car back to day-one standards. The original Placer Gold was also meticulously sprayed, as well as the factory red primer floors. The original black standard interior was reupholstered and used in the build as well. It is worth noting that, during the restoration project, the original engine did receive extensive refurbishing. The original engine block, crankshaft and cylinder heads were reconditioned, the flywheel was resurfaced and the Quadrajet carburetor was reconditioned. Internally the engine received all new components, including pistons, piston rings, bearings, camshaft, timing chain and gears, oil pump, oil pressure sending unit, push rods, GM hoses, GM fan belts, radiator, heater hoses, vacuum lines, engine wire harness, clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, fuel tank and lines, fuel pump, and new engine and transmission mounts. The braking, steering and suspension components have been totally rebuilt using new products. There are several photos, receipts and original factory documents that will accompany the car.
