Details

This 1966 Plymouth Satellite is powered by a HEMI engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. The engine was properly rebuilt with quality parts by an experienced local central Florida shop within the past year, as was the transmission and dual factory 4-barrel carburetors. The car also comes with its original and working direct-drive starter, which was unique to this year and engine. It is one of only 503 built with a 4-speed manual transmission and HEMI engine. The starter works but was replaced on the car with an aftermarket gear-reduction starter specific for this year and engine to preserve the original one in working condition. The original starter and its mounting gasket come with the car. The interior features original equipment. This Plymouth comes with its original steel wheels with bias-ply tires, in addition to the American Racing wheels and 2014-era tires currently on the car. Much of the original paperwork and documentation from prior owners comes with the car as well, most of it in a nice portfolio-style binder. The documentation includes the original Window Sticker, original Certi-Card, original color chart, original Broadcast Sheet, original operating manuals and a 2006 magazine article featuring this car. This Plymouth is in the Galen Govier Chrysler Registry and retains its original Fender Tags. It was built in St. Louis, MO, on January 25, 1966, and shipped to H.L. Harris Chrysler-Plymouth in Pittsburgh, PA, and was sent to California on February 8, 1966. The car resided in California for more than 40 years and was in storage for four years in a Michigan car collection prior to its sale to the current owner during the 2012 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction; it has been garaged in Central Florida and sparingly driven since then. 35,548 miles (title reads exempt).
