Details
This custom 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Resto-Mod was built with style and handling in mind. The original body was removed from the chassis, stripped and cleaned from top to bottom. The original rear floor was raised to accommodate the new powder-coated and detailed Coffman Corvette chassis with independent suspension Dana 44 rear end and adjustable coilovers at all four corners. The underside of the car was sanded, detailed and then sprayed in tinted Raptor to match the Silver Lake Blue exterior. The car was then coated in Silver Lake Blue and PPG Vibrance Clear to give the car a vibrant classic look. Inside, the floor was sanded and detailed then sprayed with LizardSkin ceramic sound-deadening to not only add rigidity to the floor but also keep it cool and quiet. The body was then mated to its Coffman Corvette C2 performance chassis with a Mast Motorsports 560hp L8T engine with a Holley front-drive system. Cooling is supplied through DeWitt's radiator with an electric cooling fan and backed by a GM 4L65 transmission with EZ-TCU to give the driver the ability to customize shifting and a custom driveshaft. Sweet Thunder side pipes look classic but are toned down to be able to enjoy the drive without losing the impressive sound of the motor. The interior of the car is covered in Relicate leather, including the dash, custom door panels with LED lighting, custom seats with the Corvette logo, custom console and custom rear panel with LED lighting as well. German-weave carpet ties it all together. Other features include power windows, Dakota Digital gauges and clock, factory-style radio with Bluetooth, a classic-style wood steering wheel, Ididit tilt steering column and a Vintage Air system. The glass was replaced and a new Stayfast top was installed. The car is riding on Curtis Speed custom wheels and Nitto tires. Stopping power is supplied via power brakes through a Wilwood master cylinder and red Brembo Corvette calipers at all four corners. All the original stainless trim and bumpers were either polished to show-quality or replaced. Other details and upgrades include an American Autowire wiring harness, Dakota Digital linear actuator to open/close the hood, Detroit Speed electric headlights and transmission cooler, and LED taillights.
