Details

This custom 1956 Chevrolet 3100 pickup started life as an original V8 truck. Power is provided by a fuel-injected 350ci engine mated to a 700R4 transmission. The truck has received a full frame-off build starting with a frame from a later-model Chevrolet truck. The frame was sandblasted and powder-coated. One-ton axles were used in the build, with a 14-bolt in the rear that has a limited-slip posi-traction unit. The front axle is a Dana 60 with a locker and disc brakes. The suspension was custom-built for this truck; the front leaf springs are a multi-leaf setup provided by Alcan Spring. The rear has received a shackle flip and a set of 64-inch-long half-inch Tom leaf springs with a set of Fox 2.0 shocks. The steering received a crossover setup by Crane. The truck rides on a set of KMC 17-inch wheels wrapped in Toyo 37-inch tires. The engine is a Chevy 350 with Vortex heads, an aftermarket serpentine system and a Holley Sniper fuel-injection kit. The radiator is a Griffin aluminum unit with a SPAL electric fan. The transmission is a built 700R4 and a gear-driven NP205 transfer case that has been upgraded to a twin stick. The exhaust starts with a set of Hedman Tri-Y headers and flows through a set of stainless MagnaFlow mufflers. A Boyd Welding fuel tank with an in-tank fuel pump handles the fuel system. The interior of the truck features a custom bench seat that has been wrapped in Torch Fire Red. It features Dakota Digital gauges, a Vintage Air system and a custom Autosound radio with kick panels. The interior also has power windows with a set of Nu-Relic window switches to keep the vintage feel. The body has received a full restoration with tons of upgrades, such as the Eddie Motorsport hood hinges, MAR-K hidden tailgate latches and stops, Hagen Street Rod fuel filler and one-piece power side glass. The paint is a base coat/clear coat finish with matte red accents. All of the lights, seals, chrome parts and glass have been replaced with new parts. The bed wood has been finished with red dye and an automotive clear finish.
