Details
This custom 1932 Ford Roadster is #001 originally built in 1998 with a small-block Chevrolet engine as a demonstrator for So-Cal Speed Shop for parts sales. This car has been in over 100 different magazines and in 13 different countries. In 2010 SEMA and GM came to Pete Chapouris of So-Cal Speed Shop to build an emission-compliant hot rod with classic hot-rod style. GM supplied a 2010 LS3 engine with a 6-speed manual transmission to meet California emissions standards and the soul of the hot rod rumbling under the hood. Pete and his crew at So-Cal took on the challenge of taking an old rod and installing a fuel-efficient high-horsepower engine as documented on the 'Hot Rod' TV show. This '32 So-Cal Highboy Roadster is the result of that project. The cowl has been autographed by Alex Xydias and Pete Chapouris of So-Cal Speed Shop.
