Details
Built from the ground up by East Bay Muscle Cars of Brentwood, CA, this 1967 Ford Mustang owned by MLB great Buster Posey has been painstakingly designed with modern technology in mind. Built as the ultimate Pro-Touring muscle car, this fastback is powered by an aluminum-block Jon Kaase Racing Engines Modern Boss Nine V8 engine that displaces 572ci and is rated at 828hp and 780 ft/lbs of torque. The race-oriented block features 4-bolt main bearing caps, a 4340-steel crankshaft, connecting rods, forged Diamond pistons, aluminum cylinder heads with a 2.3-inch stainless-steel swirl-polish intake valve and 1.9-inch exhaust valves activated by 1.75:1 aluminum roller rockers. The engine is fitted with electronic stack fuel-injection as well as a Kaase Boss Nine 8-Stack intake manifold, 58mm Borla throttle bodies, Holley ECU with all related sensors, wiring harness, injectors and an Aeromotive fuel pressure gauge. The Billet Specialties front runner belt system is all billet aluminum. An oversized C&R radiator with PWM fans is incorporated. Routing power to the rear wheels is a Bowler Performance Transmissions built GM 4L80E 4-speed automatic transmission with an SFI bellhousing adapter, sending power through a Wavetrac differential with 3.50 gear ratio. The custom Mustang is equipped with a Roadster Shop Fast Track chassis fashioned from 10-gauge steel, with fully boxed perimeter frame rails, a custom center crossmember with adjustable drop-out transmission bracket and a custom mid-brace crossmember with fabricated exhaust ports. The custom tri-Y headers send the exhaust into MagnaFlow stainless-steel mufflers. The entire exhaust system is custom 3-inch stainless steel, fabricated for ground clearance and ceramic-coated. The Eleanor Mustang features rack & pinion steering and a full independent rear suspension, with double adjustable coilover shocks on all four corners. Braking power is provided by 13-inch rotors, with 6-piston calipers up front and 4-piston calipers in the rear. The firewall has been moved back 5 inches; the engine bay shock towers have been removed to allow for the new chassis to fit. The front hood is a fiberglass unit featuring brand-new Ringbrothers billet hood hinges. The rear trunk lid is fiberglass with spoiler and has an electric release button. The interior of the car has German square-weave carpet, including custom-made floor mats in black. The Corbeau sport seats are wrapped in black Italian leather and the rear seats are moved back approximately 4 inches for rear passenger leg room. A custom bottom frame was made using CAD. The armrest and door panels are stitched in black Italian leather. The gauges are Dakota Digital HDX series, with GPS speed control module and Digital BIM II Holley EFI interfacing with programmable color display. The Ididit steering column has a replica Nardi wood steering wheel. The car has been rewired with American Autowire, with bus fuses to ensure safety. The new Vintage Air climate control system is tucked up under the dash. The new Boss Audio system unit features MP3, Bluetooth and AM/FM radio with front and rear coaxial speakers and an Alpine electronic subwoofer. The front windshield is new laminated safety glass; the side glass and the rear glass are all new as well. Featuring LED headlights, the Eleanor rides on three-piece aluminum Grudge Heritage Series Forgeline wheels (18x8 front; 19x10 rear) wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The car is finished in House of Kolor Metallic Gray Pearl with black stripes and has been color-sanded and buffed to a brilliant shine, with the underside of the car painted just as nice as the top of the car in satin black. Custom-designed heat shields are fitted between the floors, exhaust and driveshaft. The car comes with a number of items, including its Eleanor Tribute Edition Certificate of Authenticity and badges from Eleanor Licensing LLC, a box full of memorabilia, and the build appraisal book with receipts and images.
