Details

This 1981 Jeep Scrambler underwent a three-year full frame-off restoration with modifications. Powered by a 5.3-liter V8 LS engine with an AX-15 5-speed manual transmission. Major restoration work includes a tub replacement and a 4.5-inch Rubicon Express lift with 33-inch tires, including upgrading to a Dana 44 rear axle. As part of the rebuild, the Jeep was repainted its factory Copper Brown Metallic color with period-correct decals installed. The interior was treated with bed liner tinted in

the same exterior brown metallic color for long-term durability. A range of OEM and restoration-quality pieces were collected over the years for installation once all the heavy lifting had been done, including a Jeep Special Edition WARN 8074 winch, OEM Whitco soft-top with storage bag, OEM Whitco tonneau cover, OEM center console with reproduction armrest pad, OEM lockable bed box, OEM mud flaps, reproduction wood side rails and a full Laredo interior. Exterior modifications include a front bumper with winch plate and rear bumper with tire carrier, jerrycan and Hi-Lift jack mounts, as well as matching rock sliders. Other notable parts include color-matched half doors with Nutmeg upper soft windows and an original Nutmeg bikini top and bag. The dash was updated with OEM-style clock, tachometer, oil gauge and voltmeter, a fully restored and working AM/FM radio with cassette, and a hidden weather-resistant amplifier powering both the dash speakers and rear speakers in a custom fiberglass pod behind the seats. The speedometer is original with working gas and temperature gauges. This Scrambler is more than adequate for a daily driver or a weekend trail rig. The engine gives it plenty of pep on the highway and power on the trail. There are too many features, improvements and additions to list, though it retains much of its classic styling.
