1970 Dodge Challenger T/A with its original matching-numbers 340ci Six-Pack V8 engine and pistol-grip 4-speed manual transmission. Produced only in 1970, the Dodge Challenger T/A (Trans Am) was a racing homologation car. In order to race the SCCA Trans Am Championship, Dodge built a street version of its race car, which it appropriately named the Challenger T/A. The challenger T/A was powered by the high-revving 340 Six-Pack hardly hidden beneath a matte black fiberglass hood sporting a giant

hood scoop. The low-restriction dual exhaust system exited from the sides of the car through unique 'megaphone' exhaust tips in front of the rear tires. Front disc brakes were standard as was the heavy-duty Rallye suspension. Track stripes, bold graphics, and a fiberglass ducktail real spoiler and front spoiler were also part of the T/A package. In 1970, a total of 2,399 T/A Challengers were built, but only 989 were equipped with the factory 4-speed manual transmission and Hurst shifter. This fully restored T/A Challenger is presented in its as-built color combination with correct options as decoded by its VIN and Trim Tags. Matching-numbers engine confirmed by documentation. Restoration photos, receipts, book and magazine features will transfer with the car.
