Details
This Corvette was recently stripped down and catapulted to the 20th century by mating the original body to a Coffman Corvette chassis, Dana 44 rear end, and a C6 and C7 suspension with RideTech adjustable coilovers. It features rack & pinion power steering and Z06 Corvette brakes. This car has the stance and drivability that C2 owners dream of. Raise the Dakota Digital electric powered hood and you see a GM LT1 6.2-liter V8 engine producing a factory-rated 450hp paired with a GM 4L65E 4-speed automatic transmission. The perfect accent and sound of side pipe exhaust completes the package. The stripped body was massaged, and the gaps were tightened and aligned. The firewall and inner fenders were all smoothed and finished, as well as the underside of the hood. The underbody was coated with Raptor Liner to add strength as well as fine detail; the interior was then sprayed with LizardSkin ceramic coating to deaden sound as well as beef up the original fiberglass durability. Then deep, rich gloss black paint was applied to the body and finished off with the Viper Red accents to the custom Stinger hood, then sealed in clear to give the body the depth and shine worthy of any show. The glass was replaced with soft tint as well as a black Stayfast convertible top to protect the red leather interior. The interior includes a leather stitched dash and custom console, as well as the custom-stitched red leather door panels, making the interior rival most modern day luxury cars. The amenities include Vintage Air, power windows, Dakota Digital carbon-fiber gauges, Rockford Fosgate stereo with Bluetooth, Flaming River tilt steering column and a classic-looking C2-style wood steering wheel to give this modern interior a touch of original class. One thing not seen very often is the addition of Sonksen-design custom HID headlights, which give the car the classic look of hideaway headlights, but when turned on only lower the front lower portion of the bucket to reveal super bright HIDs. The headlights give the car a sinister look, without the typical buckets sticking up, taking away from the Corvettes natural front flowing lines. To finish this build off it’s riding on custom Diamondback red line tires mounted to chrome 18-inch Corvette wheels. There was absolutely no expense spared in this custom build, as well as all chrome and stainless either polished to show standards or replaced with new.
