1965 FACTORY FIVE MK4 ELECTRIC ROADSTER

This 1965 Mk4 roadster by Factory Five was built by hand and finished in 2019. It has an all-electric conversion with a 60kw battery system giving it a range of 150 miles. It has two HPEVS AC35 motors in Siamese configuration with Curtis 1239 controllers. The motors are paired with a TKO 500 5-speed manual transmission featuring a new clutchless design used in many EV conversions. Weighing around 2,300 pounds, with 190hp and 165 ft/lbs of torque, it's a nice cruising car, hitting 0 to 60 in about 6.5 seconds with a top speed of 150 mph. The car has been built in a retro style, making the modern super quiet conversion seem surprising. It has a beautiful chrome finishes and a tri-coat paint in the Gialo Midas Yellow. The wheels are Vintage Halibrand 17-inch replica rims with Nitto rubber. It has 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes with regenerative braking, front coilovers, rack & pinion steering, and a coilover independent rear suspension. The interior of the car is simple and sleek with leather finishes and a set of AutoMeter UltraLite gauges. The car has many safety features both for the occupants and modern electronics. It has modern safety glass, roll bar, Factory Five steel chassis and Simpson 5-point safety harnesses. The electronics have a separate fused system, rollover switches, double redundant battery fuses, emergency cutoff switches, and low and overcharge systems. It has two onboard charging systems for a max of 40 amp charging at home or at a public station. It takes around five hours to max charge or overnight on a 20 amp from a more modest system. This car is street legal and has only test miles.
