Details
This is a Rosso Corso Red 1956 Chevrolet 3100 pickup with a ground-up, all-custom build using new parts. It’s powered by a ZZ454 V8 crate engine with FiTech injection, Jet Hot-coated manifolds, Billet Specialties serpentine belt and polished pulleys. The engine is mated to a 4L80E 4-speed automatic transmission with a TCI controller, rebuilt torque converter, cooler and uses a PCS push-button electronic shifter mounted on the door. A 20-gallon gas tank with a FiTech fuel pump helps feeds the
engine, and a large aluminum radiator with duel electric fans keeps everything cool. The driveline features a new balanced driveshaft, Ford 9-inch posi-traction rear end with 3.55 gears, and 31-spline axles. The frame was boxed, reinforced and powder-coated. The suspension is 4-link with Panhard bar, four QA1 adjustable coilover springs, tubular A-arms, sway bar and power rack & pinion steering. Stopping power is provided by Wilwood 4-wheel power disc brakes with braided stainless lines and a power e-brake. It also features a drop-down battery box, master cylinder mounted to frame and a Painless wiring harness. The frame, cab and doors received a 6-inch stretch with rounded door corners. The bodywork has 300 hours of metal fabrication; it took eight years to build this pickup. Extraordinarily smooth, straight body lines and gaps with attention to detail and fitment was top priority. The build included replacing firewall and floor, and shaving the door handles using heavy-duty solenoids. A key fob is used for entry. There is no rust or filler anywhere. The paint is PPG Rosso Corso Red over a white sealer. New oak planks were installed in the bed, and the stainless strips have no visible hardware. The bed ordered was new, with no stake pockets and a latched tailgate. It features tubbed inner rear fenders and fuel door. The truck was built for car shows or daily driver. The interior has a 1959 Impala dash that features Classic Instruments All American gauges with a 5-inch speedometer, tachometer and four smaller gauges. A Glide bench seat and mini console, covered in tan leather with ostrich insets, highlight the interior. Dynamat sound-dampening was installed throughout, and it features a Kenwood stereo with a 400-watt amplifier, remote and six speakers with a subwoofer. The interior also includes an Ididit tilt column, 15-inch steering wheel, power windows, power steering, Vintage Air with hidden lines, cruise control, and all-new tinted glass and rubber. This custom pickup rides on 17-inch American Racing wheels.
