In 2003, to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Corvette, a group of automotive engineers in Michigan designed a way to pay tribute to the Corvette legacy by blending the 50's styling with cutting edge C5 technology. In 1954, as part of their Motorama line up, GM displayed special prototype Corvettes, with the only Corvette Wagon referred to as the 'Waldorf Nomad,' which was later used as the Chevy Nomad Wagon. This custom Corvette wagon was built from a 2004 coupe and a glass hatchback was

added with no modification to the existing seal surfaces. It features custom steel side exhaust, seven chrome vertical strips on the rear fascia, functional rear hatch lid with added cargo space and hash marks on the roof panel. The new retro designed package includes a new front fascia, headlights, chrome die-cast grille and bumpers, hood, fenders, rear quarter panels, and LED taillights, replacing the original parts. Panels are bolted to the original attachment points. This custom Corvette is powered by a 5.7-liter 8-cylinder engine mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. It is also equipped with red-painted brake calipers, custom Lipstick Red leather interior, dual power seats with 2-position memory on the driver's side, power windows, power locks, tilt and telescopic wheel, cruise control, factory remote alarm, dual-zone air conditioning, and a top-of-the-line BOSE AM/FM CD surround sound system in the dash and a 10-disc CD changer mounted in the rear storage. It has the optional heads-up display and Selectric ride control, custom exhaust system and factory chrome Corvette wheels.
