Details
This Shelby GT350, numbered SFM6S1594, was #1,594 of the total of 2,378 Shelbys built in 1966 at the Shelby American plant in Southern California. Carroll Shelby’s early GT350s exemplified Ford’s “Total-Performance” era and established an unbeatable high-performance image with the trendsetting new Pony car. On the track, the GT350 dominated the opposition to secure three straight SCCA B-Production championships in ‘65, ‘66 and ‘67. This GT350 was stored from the late ‘70s until 2004, when it was
transported across the continent to the state of Georgia for a full professional rotisserie restoration back to its original showroom condition. The restoration included a K-code high-performance 289ci engine, a BorgWarner T10 4-speed manual transmission and a 9” rear axle. Since completion, this GT350 has appeared at the Fabulous Fifties Fall Fiesta at Shelby Automobiles in Gardena, CA, and at Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Laguna SECA Raceway. With California and Arizona history, this GT350 is presently in good condition.
