1965 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE 300 CUSTOM WAGON

Details

Chevelle 2-door station wagons were only built in 1964 and 1965. This 1965 model recently underwent a comprehensive restoration to be a mildly modified cruiser. The first major work done was the replacement of the interior floor pans with factory solid panels obtained from a Southwest donor car. The work was done to high standards, and other minor rust on the rear quarters was repaired properly with metal. Front fenders were also sourced to replace the originals, which were failing at the lower

rear corners. The panel fit is nice, and the car is straight and true. The frame and chassis components were all sandblasted and repainted. All suspension was rebuilt. Power front disc brakes have been fitted, and power-assisted rack & pinion steering has been fitted as well to achieve a more modern driving experience. An older V8 engine was replaced with a freshly rebuilt 1968 327/300hp engine with a few mild performance upgrades. Headers meet up to a complete new dual exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers. The transmission is a Tremec 5-speed manual sourced from an S10 Blazer, and its gear ratios combined with the 3:55 rear gear make for lively performance. A full custom interior was recently completed with no detail left undone. The original folding front seat was highly modified to have a lower cushion profile and side bolsters like a modern luxury car. The black and Dark Saddle upholstery was done in the late-model Mercedes-Benz Designo theme. A new black headliner and fully bound custom carpet with matching floormats complete the package. The dash is fully restored, and a new digital in-dash stereo was also installed. The exterior paint is fresh in Butternut Yellow with PPG matte-finish clear coat, and all exterior trim is either new or replated. A new tinted windshield is in place; all other glass is original and does have some scratches. All weatherstripping is new. This Chevelle Wagon rides on a brand-new set of Hurst Dazzler wheels with new BFGoodrich T/A radial tires.
