It was purchased by tennis star Jimmy Connors, who gave it to his wife, 1977 Playboy Playmate of the Year, Patti McGuire. In 2013, a complete restoration was performed by renowned Shelby experts. There are only 47 GT500KR convertibles with this color combination. This car won gold at the SAAC-39 in Division II, gold at Mid-America Ford Team Shelby, as well as gold at Muscle Car Nationals.
