This stunning 1959 Ford Galaxie 500 Skyliner has been completely restored to original factory specifications. To begin, it features a 332/225hp V8 engine with a 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic transmission. In addition to comfort 4-way power seats, it can be driven as a convertible or as a two-door hardtop (the pull of a switch allows both to happen). In either case, the elegant interior features power seats, factory Selectaire air conditioning and power windows for convenience. The power activated Town
& Country radio still tunes in AM/FM stations. Fairlane 500 Galaxie was the top trim level offered for all Skyliners. It added new wide Thunderbird inspired top with a much wider C-pillar. The Galaxie script replaced a Fairlane 500 designation on the quarter panels, but the Fairlane 500 emblem was retained on the trunk lid. The large top made the car heavier, requiring a higher horsepower V8 engine. It has a Continental rear end and chrome fender skirts and has a Style-Tone two-tone blue exterior paint.
