1936 FORD HALF-TON CUSTOM PICKUP

Details

This truck had been restored to original in 1982. In 2009, it underwent a two-and-a-half-year, professionally completed restoration. It is all steel with all original 1936 parts, except for the running boards, which were sourced in Texas. The powertrain is Ford Performance Boss 302 complete with Edelbrock intake manifold and Holley 670 cfm carburetor. It has a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission, Heidts Mustang II front end with disc brakes and drums on the rear axle, which has traction bars

installed to eliminate hop under acceleration. The truck is on its original frame, all cut and polished. The box has maple board/Horkey floor and features a custom-made storage box fabricated to echo the roof and cab lines. The interior was done by Diamond Trim in Aurora and features tan leather seats and door panels, and German weave carpeting over sound-deadening. There is a Pioneer sound system hidden in the glove box. It rides on Vintique spoked wheels with Coker whitewall radials. It features two-tone green paint: Jaguar Racing Green metallic upper cab and fenders with complementing lighter green metallic in center. The grille is chromed, and the original front and back bumpers were straightened and rechromed. The custom-made 4' dual exhaust is complete with resonators and mufflers. On completion in 2012, the truck was shown at the invitation-only International Car Show in Toronto as part of the Builder's Series representing 30 top builder's vehicles. It was also accepted into and shown at the inaugural Concours D'Elegance in Cobble Beach in the Hot Rod and Modified category. This truck has won numerous regional car and truck show honors and was shown in the May 2014 issue of Rod & Custom - full page as reader's ride with photographs.
