The 2006 season brought the debut of the stunning Ferrari 430 GTC with a 2008 example, serial #2604, shown here. The 430 GTC was developed by the Ferrari Corse Clienti department in Maranello in collaboration with Michelotto Automobili in response to rules affecting the more powerful, pre-existing F430 GT3. Derived from the excellent F430 road-going Berlinetta, the 430 GTC dominated its category since its debut. Major wins for the 430 GTC include the FIS GT2 Manufacturers' Cup and Drivers'
titles in the American LeMans GT2 Series in 2007, and the GT category in the 2008 LeMans 24-Hour Race. The previously developed F430 GT3 was a specialized racing car designed for the FIS GT3 European Championship with competition aerodynamics, including large air exhaust vents in the hood. Having a full 4.3 Liter engine, the F430 GT3 produced more power than the GT2 430 GTC variant with 4.0 Liter. However, because the GT3 rules required that the F430 GT3 to have a weight/power ratio of about 2.6 kg/hp, (2,646 lbs in race trim), the 430 GTC variant proved to be faster. For example, in the 2007 Spa 24-Hour Race, in which both models were entered, the GT3 spec vehicle was about eight seconds slower in its best qualification lap times than the GT2 class 430 GTC. Ferrari has a great tradition in Gran Turismo competitions of winning with the cars from the Prancing Horse on tracks and roads all over the world. Taking part in Gran Turismo competition has a double function for Ferrari. On the one hand, there is the goal of using racing as the environment to develop new solutions for the serial production, as it happens in Formula One; on the other hand, there is the desire to nourish the legend of a brand, which also became universally known due to its clients' success in motor sports. This Ferrari 430 GTC is presented as being in brand new condition and having never been raced. Engine Type 90, V8 Bore/Stroke 3.62 X 2.96, total displacement 243.8cid, maximum power 351 KW (470hp) at 7,000rpm, maximum torque 510 NM at 5,500rpm chassis, and aluminum alloy engine block. Includes a Ferrari S.p.A Certificate of Origin showing serial #2604 and signed by then Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa. From the John Rosatti Collection. **SOLD ON BILL OF SALE ONLY**
