1970 FORD SHELBY GT500 FASTBACK

This is one really special Shelby, one of 380 fastbacks produced. In addition to it being a GT500, which is rare enough, the car also has the factory Drag Pack option. This includes the Super Cobra Jet 428cid motor rather the basic Cobra Jet 428. The Super Cobra Jet was built with the LeMans rods. The Drag Pack also included a choice of two different rear end gears. This car has the 3.90 gear set rather than the 4.30 set. 9E16 block date code, Rug-AE2 big shaft 4-speed with correct shifter,

correct Super Cobra Jet harmonic balancer and cookie cutter counter weight, correct 4-speed gear reducer for Drag Pack gear ratio, 9D24 nodular case with 31-spline axles, 9E17 Cobra Jet intake dated to block with C9AF-9510-M, SCJ 4-speed Holley 735CFM carburetor, all correct emissions, heatsheild S-tube and Ram Air assembly, correct hood and fenders, hood S9MS-16612-B, rare special order Grabber Yellow, (the only color to get black stripes) and 1970 model with unique 70 Shelby front spoiler. There is no air conditioning. There is no fold down rear seat option. This is a very well preserved car which only needed minor refurbishing. It was refinished in the original special order Grabber Yellow color. All care was taken to keep as much original as possible. This car has excellent provenance. First it is a one registered owner, bought by the driver's father after his son fulfilled a promise to work long enough to earn the money to pay for half the car. The car was purchased brand new from Gotham Ford in downtown New York City. All paperwork, including the original title, Monroney label, purchase contract, dealer invoice and other documents come with the car. The car includes a letter from the original owner attesting to the cars 49,222 original miles. Included is an Elite Marti Report.
