Details
1968 was a big year for the Shelby Mustang. With the growing Shelby demand, Ford assumed an increased role in design, development, production and marketing of the Shelby. The result was a more refined high-performance muscle car. 1968 also brought an all new, one-year-only version of the Shelby Mustang, the GT500 KR, King of the Road, with only 1,053 built. This King of the Road is very well documented and is finished in its original color of Highland Green with black bucket seat interior. It is
powered by its original 428 Cobra Jet engine and a 4-speed transmission with both matching numbers and original. Equipment includes: power steering, power brakes, AM radio, visibility group, interior décor group, tachometer and Shelby 10-spoke wheels. This very original and correct Shelby GT500 KR was concours restored in 2007 by nationally-known Shelby restorer, Jim Cowles.
