Details

This wonderful and very original example of a 1953 Corvette is early serial #083 from a total of only 300 manufactured in that year and one of the only 190 which are estimated to remain in the world today. This particular example has all the credentials necessary to make it one of the most collectible Corvettes of all time. It is an unrestored, well maintained example with mostly original paint. It was formerly owned by Grammy award winning Country singer Alan Jackson and a noted part of his personal collection. It is an award winning Corvette and with a remarkable pedigree including a Blue Ribbon Award at the MuscleCar and Corvette Nationals along with being a Concours Winner at the Corvette Nationals. Its pedigree is listed in the C1 Registry and the Corvette Action Center 1953 Corvette Chronicles. As a true time capsule this car is powered by a correct 235cid Blue Flame 150hp engine, Powerglide automatic transmission, three Carter YH carburetors and dual exhaust. In a very detailed inspection by a noted Corvette expert the engine casting number and date code (June 8, 1953) and cylinder head are correct for the serial number range and proceed its assembly date by about three weeks. The body has never been off the frame. Its mostly original Polo White lacquer paint is in remarkable condition considering its 60-year life span. Expert inspection revealed no signs of damage repair to either the frame or hand-laid fiberglass body. The Sportsman Red interior shows very well along with its black canvas softtop. The only options available in 1953 were a Wonder Bar AM radio and a heater which are both present on this vehicle. Purists are extremely impressed by the originality displayed throughout every aspect of this car. When one closely inspects the trim, hardware, accessories, nuts and bolts it truly validates how well preserved this unrestored example has remained in over 60 years of existence.
