Chassis #S308LR, engine #21089, This Springfield Rolls-Royce is a one-off example. The Ascot phaeton has proven to be one of the most exquisite designs of the classic era. Its finely crafted lines, accented with polished aluminum betlines, combine with the graceful 21' wire wheels to make this one of the most stylish phaetons of the era. Of the 21 Ascot Phaetons built this example is the only Ascot with roll up windows, a modification performed by the renowned Murphy Coachworks of Pasadena, CA.

The car was delivered new to a Mr. G.M. Church of Pasadena, CA on October 10, 1929. It was later owned for many years by Mr. Lester Braunstein of Beverly Hills, CA. This car is featured in John Webb de Campi's book 'Rolls-Royce in America.' Pictured in the book is a factory photo, a picture taken circa 1950s and a picture in the 1970s with former owner Lester Braunstein. This Ascot is clearly one of the most desirable American made Rolls-Royces created and this car the most unique of them all. This original chassis, body and engine car was the subject of an extensive restoration spanning years. This car has been the recipient of numerous awards, trophies and honors.
