GM obtained the rights from Magna Steyr to produce a limited-edition series and started Advanced Automotive Technologies. Using a C5 chassis and drivetrain, AAT fit new front and rear fenders, hood, deck-lid, headlights, tail lights, bumpers and trim, blending together the two styles for a car that pays tribute to its heritage. Named the 1953 Commemorative Editions, these cars feature all of the modern underpinnings and power of the C5, but with the classic lines and look of the '53 Corvette.
Today, less than 200 of the '53 Commemorative Editions have been built, with production expected to be limited to 200 units. You now have an opportunity to own one of these rare beauties, Number 005 out of less than 200 ever built. This 6-speed beauty is special and comes equipped with all of the normal AAT 1953 CE features plus some exciting upgrades including white pearl exterior with white softtop, stunning custom red and white leather interior with custom lettering on headrests, custom built 3-piece wheels painted to match exterior, custom headers and special exhaust system, tinted windows with special automatic functioning, custom engine compartment and trunk area, 12-disc CD player and more.
