stronger steel frame and better alloys utilized in the components, improving cooling and additional heat shield, superior brakes and rack & pinion steering. All of which renders this period correct 50th Anniversary Shelby Cobra Roadster edition, safer and more drivable which brings this very rare special 50th Anniversary 1962 Cobra Roadster CSX8997 up to date and ready to hit the road. True to the original 1962 Shelby Cobra, this has a high performance period correct Ford 289 fully roller iron cast engine putting out approximately 350hp, with an upgraded retrofitted heavy duty Tremec 5-speed transmission used in the Ford 427 Cobras, making freeway cruising smooth and carefree. Factory upgrades include a 5-speed transmission instead of a 4-speed and a 3.73 rear end gear instead of the 3.54 gear also offered. Another upgrade offered is a factory special edition 50th Anniversary Carroll Shelby Cobra car cover, only offered for this edition. Use only 91 octane pump gasoline.
