Details
This 1955 Chevy Nomad, aka 'Plum Mad,' has won multiple ISCA Best of Show, Outstanding Custom and Class Championship awards around the country. It was also a Blackie's invitation only selectee, won the George Barris Favorite Award at Blackie's VIP sponsored by Meguiar's, presented and interviewed on the Car Crazy show by Barry Meguiar. Recent Best of Show at Super Runs Henderson NV. This original California car with matching Black Plates is currently featured in Super Chevy Platinum Special
Collector's Edition 2012. Custom Arias Chevy Hemi 540cid, BDS 8-71 blown and electronically fuel injected, nostalgic looking 16 hard fuel lines. It also has a restored vintage PSI hat that is magnesium which explains the Dow 7 finish. A complete custom exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers, the header size is 2 ? '. The transmission is custom built, it is a Turbo 400 3-speed with rare Hurst lightening rod shifters. It has a completely new chassis and suspension by Art Morrison. Stopping power is provided electronically by ABS to the Wilwood disc brake system. The wheels are billet by Boyd Coddington. The wheels are 18 x 8 front and 18 x 10 rears. Body seams are filled; the hood has been sectioned and pancaked. Custom firewall, custom hood hinges that recess into the firewall, custom body door handles, custom park lights with bezels, custom tail light gas door, bumper modified and flipped, custom side exhaust. Custom full leather interior with 1 piece suede headliner with recessed bows. Custom stereo system by ARC Audio with back up camera. Custom power bucket seats front and rear. Power windows and vents. Custom cargo area with lid. Custom aluminum radiator, electronic water pump, 33 gallon stainless steel gas tank. Flaming River steering column and push button ignition system. Custom security system.
