Details
The first American sports car with its prototype introduced even before that of the Corvette and Thunderbird. Always a forward thinker, Darrin incorporated his patented sliding 'pocket' doors and 3-position convertible top. Bodies supplied by Glasspar Boat Company, a pioneer in the use of fiberglass for specialized cars. This is body Number 112 of 435 Kaiser Darrins ever built during one-year of production. It is the first red car to come off the line and red was the lowest production of the four colors offered. This is a total professional, rotisserie restoration. Features include 90hp, 161cid F-head 6-cylinder engine, 3-speed manual overdrive transmission, 3-position Landau top, chrome wire wheels, wide white wall tires, heater and patented 'pocket' doors. A select few cars were fitted with a sleek, removable hardtop such as the one offered with this car.
