Details
This 280SL spent more than a decade in storage before being found in a Seattle garage in 2007. At that time it was brought back to road-ready condition, with issues generally associated with long, idle storage addressed by the authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer in Seattle. The fuel tank was removed and the inside thoroughly cleaned, the factory air conditioning system was serviced, the fuel injection was serviced and got new injectors, the steering box was rebuilt, and even the transmission was
rebuilt. The car has never been restored, but was repainted in its original white circa 1992, and the interior wood trim has been replaced, as has the headliner on the otherwise totally original hardtop. The rest of the interior is almost totally original and has aged gracefully showing very well overall. Included with purchase are the original owner handbooks, the complete receipts for the work performed at the Mercedes-Benz dealer in 2007, plus additional maintenance records since.
