Details
An early muscle car. Due to Hudson developing tanks and tank motors for WWI, the Super Six, introduced in 1916, had been thoroughly field tested before ever being placed into an automobile. The 288.6cid 3 1/2' x 5' bore and stroke motor, with the first balanced crakshaft along with four main bearings, developed 76hp. Only the very high priced Packards and Pierce Arrows were competing in this horsepower range and they sold for over four times more than the Hudson. The 125 1/2' wheelbase was
standard on all models. Base price of the 7P Touring was $1,975, and over $2,100 with options. The very early years of this 1920 Hudson are unknown, but this car has resided in the Seattle area for approximately the last 60 years, having one long term owner who passed away 10 years ago. The car has been in two prominent collections since his passing. While many of these early cars are museum pieces and rarely driven, this Hudson is the exception. In fact, in 2009 and 2010 this car participated in the Mozart Tours traveling 500-600 miles per rally. Two years ago it was fitted with four new 35'x5' Goodrich Silverton tires and tubes. Cosmetics are older, but show very well. The leather interior is extremely nice. It is ready to drive as it sits and awaits the unsuspecting Pierce or Packard owner who will quickly see it's backside.
