Details
1979 Citroen Speedster features a standard Citroen 2CV chassis in 3-wheel configuration. The air cooled 2 cylinder engine of 602cc drives the front wheels through a 4-speed transmission. As a 3-wheeler it carries a motorcycle tag so it is legal for a lone driver to use the freeway carpool lanes that are also open to motorcycles, making it a great commuter vehicle as well. But because it has a steering wheel in place of handlebars and conventional seats with seat belts instead of a motorcycle
saddle, no helmet or motorcycle operator's license is required. Capable of speeds up to 80mph, it accelerates quickly and due to its very light weight of about 950lbs it's quite quick. With full top and side curtains it can be used daily. All mechanical parts are ordinary Citroen 2CV components so parts availability and service is excellent.
