Details
The first American sports car with its prototype introduced even before that of the Corvette and Thunderbird. Always a forward thinker, Darrin incorporated his patented sliding 'pocket' doors and 3-position convertible top. Bodies supplied by Glasspar Boat Company, a pioneer in the use of fiberglass for specialized cars. This is body #130 of 435 Kaiser Darrins ever built during 1-year of production. At least 2 early Darrins were equipped with McCulloch centrifugal superchargers and it is known
that Darrin sponsored this idea by fitting blowers to a few of the left over car that he sold from his showroom in Las Angeles and McCulloch's plant was just down the road from Darrins studio. This is a total professional, rotisserie restoration of an untouched car. Every nut, bolt and component removed and totally rebuilt and restored to like new condition. Features include 90hp, 161cid F-head 6-cylinder engine, 3-speed manual overdrive transmission, McCulloch centrifugal supercharger, 3-position Landau top, chrome wire wheels, wide white wall tires, heater and patented 'pocket' doors.
