The Citroen Traction Avant, or 'front Drive' in french, was introduced in 1933 and lasted until 1957. This all new automobile featured many revolutionary breakthroughs. It was not the first front wheel drive car, but the first mass manufactured one. The body and chassis were of uni-body construction and was made of all steel. This arc welded unit was extremely lighter than most other cars of the time. The Traction Avant was capable of 62mph and consumed only one gallon of fuel per 25 miles
traveled. These amazing cars, with their long production run of 24 years, were considered by most as one of the most successful french cars produced.
