This Corvette is the recipient of an exceptional frame-off restoration and it is a documented 3 owner car with its factory original dual-quad 283/245hp V8 engine. The complete drivetrain is original, including the dual-quad carburetors and the Powerglide transmission that make it 1 of 232 built with this combination. The current owner is the nephew of the second owner, who purchased it in Dec. 1962 after a coworker at NASA traded it for a sedan and when he inherited the car in 2004, it had been sitting dormant since 1964. Great care was taken to bring the car up NCRS standards with original parts being kept and refurbished wherever possible. Included with the car are owner's manual, extensive receipts and spiral bound book with the history of the car, the 1962 second owner purchase paperwork, period photos and restoration photos. The car has only been shown once, scoring NCRS Second Flight. The details have since been attended to. This example sits among the finest '61 Corvettes available on the market today.
