1958 CHEVROLET CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE

My 1958 Corvette is a beautiful Silver Blue dream. Prior to owning it, it had been in my wife's family for over 30 years. A 5-year, $200,000, frame-off restoration was completed in 2008 with less than 900 miles on the odometer since completion. Everything on the outside is vintage 1958 but upgraded with a newer model 350cid V8. This is not a Resto-Mod. This is a great driver, with the option of returning back to original. Resto-Mods have new components that make it impossible to revert back to

original, such as a new frame or a massive Corvette engine. My vision was to restore this vehicle in such a way as to be able to drive it, enjoy it and restore it back to original at a future date. Included with this sale is the original engine block and most of the engine components, including the original manual transmission. The engine is a 350hp Ram Jet engine. It came completely set up from GM. It has electronic ignition, Fuel Injection and is extremely fast. It's painted Chevy Orange and rumbles at idle the way a Corvette should. The new manual transmission is a Tremec 5-speed with overdrive for the highway. At 65mph the tachometer shows 1,500rpm. The rear end was converted to posi-traction because it just made sense. We put in 4-wheel disc brakes with dual ports and stainless brake lines. The tires are 3' white wall radials. With new leaf springs and shocks, this car rides very comfortable yet sporty. The mufflers are loud enough when you want them to be, yet soft enough to be able to converse with the passenger at highway speeds. The interior is from Al Knock and was upgraded to leather. Restoration work was done by Restorations Unlimited II. Bodywork/fiberglass done by a Bloomington Gold vintage Corvette judge, Robin Winnan, Harmony Corvette.
