Details
To refer to this 1954 GMC 250 1 Ton truck as rare is an understatement. Only a few 1 Tons were built in 1954, only a handful were factory-equipped with 270cid engines, posi-traction and 9' factory box. This truck was originally purchased as a work truck in Ventura, California, then sold it to a lemon rancher near Fillmore in about 1961. A son of the original owner found the truck, rust-free, in a barn there in 1998. Another son recently completed the frame-off, nut and bolt restoration to
original condition. The restoration has photo documentation and no shortcuts. The frame, wheels, bumpers and grille have been powdercoated. All chrome has been re-plated, new wiring harness installed, instruments, engine and accessories rebuilt. The factory-supplied, heavy-duty, GMC jack and tire tools have been powdercoated and ready for show. Few GMC enthusiasts have ever seen one of these special-order 1 Tons, let alone one in this original, show-quality, stunning condition.
