1956 OLDSMOBILE HOLIDAY 98 CUSTOM 2 DOOR HARDTOP

Debuted at SEMA 2004, and then went to several ISCA shows and won numerous awards including the first ISCA CASI Cup and got an invite to the prestigious Fresno Autorama. These awards and nominations including Boyd Coddington's Pro Picks and a finalist for the Goodguys Custom Rod of the Year. The car has been featured and on the cover of the July 05 issue of Custom Rodder and will run in Hot Rod as an upcoming feature on 'Dare to be Different', it also can be seen in ads for AirRide Technologies and ARP Fasteners. Our goal was to take this car and make the body and trim better than the original while maintaining an almost stock appearance. The other goal was to make the car perform, not only straight line, but in handling and braking. The foundation for the big Olds' was a custom Max-G chassis with a Mustang II IFS and a 9-inch mounted on a triangular 4 link. Instead of coils, this car sits on AirRide Technologies Shockwaves and braking is completed by Baer 14 inch cross-drilled and slotted rotors and large 4-piston Alcon GT calipers. Connecting that chassis to the ground is a one-off set of forged 20x8.5 inch and 22x10.5 inch wheels, wrapped in Nitto Extreme 555R tires. Motivating a Titanic-sized Olds is no small chore, so we turned to 555 inches of Chevy big block. On the dyno with a very big carb, was capable of 790HP and 742 pound feet of torque. A racing TH400 and Gear Vendors overdrive backed up the big block. The interior was all custom made including the power cover in the center console. The front seats and custom rear seat along with the door panels are all covered in black leather with black suede and aluminum accents. The headliner is black suede. Also in the interior, the dash got a facelift with custom made gauge pods and custom Classic Instruments with the rocket logo. This is a one of a kind custom.
