Details
This well-preserved 56 Nomad underwent a 3 year total restoration including every bolt, bushing, bearing, and rubber seal. While striving for original appearance, the owner also sought to make it highly drivable, safe, and very quick. Original parts were retained when possible, but refurbished or replaced as necessary. The rare dual-quad engine was extensively modified for performance and longevity on today's fuels. It produces more than 360 horsepower, while the original engine produced 225 horsepower. A modern 5 speed Tremec overdrive manual transmission makes it a pleasure to shift and to cruise at highway speeds. Positraction was added to the rear axle, and wide white radial tires were added all around. The gauge cluster was upgraded and the original radio converted to AM/FM. Front disc brakes stop the car well, and suspension upgrades improve the handling significantly. It has been a consistent show winner, and has 235 miles since the restoration was completed.
